Re: My First Snubby
Well done fellas - great fish.
I got my first big one on Teewah Beach a couple of weeks ago - 4.5 kg. I've been dreaming of catching a big one of these for 40 years and have seen some monsters up to 10 kg caught. They always come in to Teewah around Easter time and they just love eugaries (pipis) - hence their common name of 'Oyster Cracker'.
Pro fishermen on Moreton Island netted a couple of schools of big ones in July a couple of years ago - because they could. They got 50 cents a kilo for them for cat food !
Caught mine at night and was lucky to get it in - had just put my rod in a rod holder and went back to the 4by to grab a beer. Turned around and my rod was in the water!
Again - great fish. I was rapt with mine - you guys must be ecstatic!

Just had to put a photo up - I've waited a long time for this.
