    Slow day

Took the opportunity to duck out this morning to throw a few plastics around St Helena and Mud. Trip out wasn't too bad but the wind certainly picked up at one stage before dropping off. Was a little surprised in that one of my more consistent spots didn't produce much at all. First half decent fish was well after sun up. That squire went 38cm and after getting very little I thought twice about tagging it (don't usually keep them unless over 40cm, not enough meat on the fillets to bother or perhaps I'm too lazy!) Anyway put a tag in him and popped him back. Ended up with only 2 more again just over the 35cm mark and popped them back. Some spots were a little difficult working the plastics with the wind and tide in opposing directions.

Also tried picking up some diver whiting around the compass adjustment buoy to pass the time. Picked up a few as well as a sole but not much size in them so released them. Had quite a few bite offs today and landed some XXXL grinners which kept me busy rerigging and retying after shredding up the leader. Not the best day but still good to be out on the water. All the best if your heading out over the weekend.

    One Day

Not a total failure by any means - sounds like a good relaxing day, and you were'nt at work like me, so that makes it a TOP day.

Interesting you are tagging them, I never gave that much thought about doing that myself, but worthy cause. Is it much to get set up and reporting?

Interesting=my trip was much the same-no keepers. With the full moon & what not thought it would be a ripper. The almanac said 11:30 am (corrected time) was the best time- Missed that one a started on the water at 1PM.
The people at the ramp on return wern't real excited either.

Be interested in hearing who did well.
    Cheers
