Prices wise I'm not really seeing the point. Last week I picked up some TT jigheads 15% off at $1.31 per jig head. Thats 8cents per jighead more than DIY.
I understand if people like making there own, I just don't see it as any cheaper.
Making your own really is quite cheaper, basicly once you've got your mould all it costs is hooks a bit of gas and a bit of your own time.
I make my bream jig heads on Gamagatsu hooks (same as TT) and have excess lead from when i worked, so as far as I'm concerned a jig head cost me the cost of a hook say 40 c.
It takes me 20 minutes to make 50 and I make a few for a few mates.
We're all happy, cheap jigheads , quality hooks and I got some thing else to do in my ample spare time.
I go through a stack of jig heads a year and I reckon over a year I will save a bit of money.
