Full credit where its due mate, you have the whole wello/plastics or bait thing really sussed! You'll have to give some of us some tips on how to stay connected to fish of this calibre, that's awesome fishing!! Well done!
Scalem
Hi all, just finished tidyn things up after another great session at wello. The night started off a little slow with mainly a fish per bait, but most were 30-36cm. Inbetween the smaller fish we (my neighbour and i) managed a feed of squire(5) from 37 - 40cm, then once the tide had changed decided to leave the baby's and have a scout around with some plastics. That's when all hell broke loose..........after sounding around i found a little lump holding some fish so then set up the drift over it and beyond. First drift was a few smaller fish, then the second drift was bangzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz i'm on then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz some more which turned out to be a good squire smack on 60cm!!! Having that in the boat and stocked at a great fish we headed back for another drift. The next drift me decky was anxious so i let him fish out the side i got it from hoping for a good fish for him, well not to be, i cast out where he was fishing previously and bang i'm on again zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz x10 i've got him then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz no he's got me!!!!!!!!!!! Finally i turned it and tussled to the boat and landed a 62cm squire/knobbie !!!!!!! By now me deckie didn't have alot to say eccept f**** you, but good fish anyway!!! I was suprised at the boats that left to early again and they were right on the money!! T1 & Tinn will be happy to know that they were caught nearly smack on where they have fished recently, which is some very good ground !!!!!! All in all it turned out to be a good night, and i will post up some piccies after a little shuteye!!!
Cheers Adrian !!!!

Nice stuff adrian that is very good size snapper from wello.
What plastics did you get them on?
T1 and I have found that once the tide starts to run out it is time for the plastics to be pulled out. We have found that some times the biggest fish of the night is caught on plastic on the run out tide. Not many people stay to fish the run out tide at wello.
So if you caught it around our ground that means that is our fish you caught so you can post me some fillets if you like
It's all part of the fishing experience
Damn thievery if you ask me! Seriously mate, that is good fish and this week has been perfect conditions for it that's for sure! It looks like my only window of opportunity is going to be a few hours before work in the morning so lets hope that they play the game and it's not a repeat of Sunday morning!
Take Care T

Cheers

Hey Adrian,
Awesome effort.....pales my trip into insignifance. Yeah you are absolutely correct. Wello does normally fire much better on the run out tide. Should have done what you did and went looking but I had my bag and unfortunately like us all had to get up early for work. Once again awesome effort!!
Watta
My records show better fishing the run in with a high tide mid morning. Just shows it fishes well at times during both tides.

Heres some pics
Cheers Adrian

I was sick and tyred of my phone ringing and it was you letting me know how much the fish were going off 200m away from me.
I find it hard to nleave a spot once im anchored and set up. oh well you just never know what will happen that next cast.
