I dont get it... I'm of that generation (assuming these guys were youngish) and it has never appealed to me or my mates to vandalise other peoples stuff.
Especially when you're not even gunna be around to see they guys face a few days later when he smells fish.

Just a litle tip ... be careful with the "hooks on the aerial" type prevention (called a mantrap) ..there is reference to it (mantraps) in the criminal code.

You may be charged if you set one .... and then open to a civil suit if you are convicted.

I know ... only because I went to the local copper and asked about razor wire to place around to stop little grubs from using my back fence as a graffiti area ... barbed wire was a possible option but he was saying ... in my opinion dont ! I didnt !!

Eventually they moved on as I kept painting over their stuff ... that worked the quickest ...

Some people had some bad stuff done to their cars at night at ramps ... mirrors off, glass smashed for ashtray money check etc.

Anyone wanna set up a northside ramp that is private ...about 3-5 acres of fully fenced private land, security guards from 6pm to 6 am on site or caretaker on site, boom gates in and out ... 4 -6 lanes ... fully lit, wide car parks everywhere, a fully integrated wash bay with tank water, drive in ... car out of bay but boat still in shed like washer ... place money in press button, floor and roof sprayers wash trailer and boat ... machine dispenses a can of coke while you wait for washer ....

I'll pay a reasonable fee to enter ....

Have a bit of land next door open to public, something like a little park with landscaping, seating, parking ... coffee shop there that has one side open to public area and one side open to boat ramp side ... ramp side gets priority (wink)
