Live well pumps

Guys whats the secret to getting my pumps primed..Changed out both pumps like for like...So they are the same....But bugger me l cant get them to pump....Nothing else has changed....They run fine...Its got me stumped

I have electric pump on transom. Every time I drop the boat in the water it pumps fine. No problem primes itself never misses. I thought they all were self priming, just switch em on and watch the water come through

No, mine is brand new also it won't pump at all times, all I do is reach back and slightly undo the nut which is just finger tight until it primes itself and re tighten I will say this is a pain. Kevin

mate look for a air block! providing the pump is below water level a air block is the most likley problem.

Could the Neg and Pos be reversed? causeing the pump to pump the incorrect direction.
