Hey lads, thought id try something other than the bay Squire. Mate of mine from the Sunshine Coast tells me the big Squid are around. He & some of his mates are the local pro fisherman from up there & this time of the year while trolling live baits for the big Spanyards their baits get attacked by these big Squid. So up i go. Had about 3 hrs sleep after getting home from the footy, in the car with a giant hangover & up the coast i go. Love this holidays stuff. On the water at 630am first Squid in the boat 700am. # 7 Squid at 9am & missed about 4 on the way. Back to the ramp 10am then the fun starts cleaning off all that black sh#t. The deck wash gets most of it off but my new trick is spray with diluted Exit Mould then was off with water, clean as a whistle!! Big feed of Calamari & salad tonight. These things are about 50cm long & i had already started to clean them when i remembered to take a photo but there was 7 total.

Mate, they are big squid, have seen the local boys out there of late chasing the spano's but how did you score em an what general area did they come from,
that is if you dont mind me askin?
Maybe goin for a run tomorrow night, also what were the conditions like?
Hopefully better than last sat when we practically got blown out of the water o/night by that stiff s/wester,
Any help would be appreciated an enjoy the calamari,

Nice stuff Bar up. Not sure if they're the Tiger's like I been getting my way but nice squid none the less. Enjoy your feed, I know I do!

JT, i hear theyre getting a few off the weedbeds around old woman island the past couple of weeks, most ppl troll real big jigs slowly till they find a patch.

there the same breed of squid they just have coloured cammo offshore , caught a couple of huge ones off southport in the past.
