Crazy pics charleville keep them coming!!!
Now I will have to start watching my methods at the ramp.
Not enough time in the day, to many spots to fish!
Hehehe! You are pretty safe. I don't even know where Casuarina, NSW is.
Yet!
The last time that I just happened to have a camera in my hand at a boat ramp was when I took a great picture of a Customs boat on its trailer falling off the end of the ramp at Colmsie in the Brisbane river.
It might be a great way to spend a morning in the warm winter sun, sitting near a boat ramp with a camera. (discreetly) These little Canon digital cameras with 25X magnification made up of optical and digital zoom are ideal for doing this sort of surveillance - er - ah - observation - er - ah - watching - er ah - taking pictures of scenery.
I have been amused about this launching of the project boat but I mean no malice to these guys and have not said that they were boofheads or anything. It was just that the project boat was everything to them. It still has to be fitted out and this was obviously its first time in the water so they seemed to be very excited and took copious pictures of it themselves. http://myskitch.com/charleville/iphoto-20070524-132603/
Nothwithstanding that though, I still say to myself, "Remind me to never buy that car!" and "I wonder how much longevity that they are going to get out of that trailer given that it was completely submersed and the Level 3 restrictions should prevent them from hosing anything other than the brakes. "
There was a huge amount of water that gushed out of the front end of the box-section centre beam of the trailer. That tells me that the back end of that box section beam probably has a welded cap on it to stop the salt water getting inside but these guys filled up the whole beam from the front end and when they retrieved the boat and pulled up level onto the tarmac in front of the ramp, an ocean of water gushed out of the front of the trailer. My guess that the salt water residue inside that box section will never be cleaned out. Remind me to never buy that trailer also.

I love it mate good pics ,Ive seen people practically back em up to the door handles and casually get out like theres nothin wrong.Ya just think to yerself yer good one i know boats!!!!!! Cheers Dan.......
I reckon you are being too hard on them, they are just getting every cents worth out of the gal job on that new trailer
Very nice project boat though, looks like a speed boat or ski boat ? but whats with the old vinnies wardrobe in the back ? perhaps they are on their way to grandmas with a new cupboard for her ? :?
Not as good as they guy launching his brand new 6.5m Runabout .....
let's see .... rod's - check, kids and wife in the boat - check, undo safety - check, reverse down the ramp ..... ummmmm perhaps I shouldn't have undone the safety just yet!!!
Not quite as stupid as the 70kg guy (if that) running to the back of the boat (on his own - remember all the family is IN the boat) to try to stop it flying of the trailer at 100mph.
The things you see !!!

Dave, you can use any graphics package such as Powerpoint to do the sort of stuff that I do with pics but those programs are a bit cumbersome to use for this type of thing and too slow.
So I use a program called "Comic Life" that is now built into in every Apple Macintosh but there is also a beta version being tested for Windows for PCs. The relevant website is http://plasq.com/
I shall declare a self-interest. One of my sons is one of the developers of this software, which won the award in 2005 for best new application for Apple computers that year. Here is an old 2005 newspaper clip about them. They work with guys in three other countries who they only met in person about three months ago after having worked remotely with them over the past three years. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/20...305562220.html and one more http://www.theage.com.au/news/macman...32.html?page=3
For quick dragging of images and the fancy stuff that I do with arrows, I use one of their bits of software called Skitch which is still under development but you can read about it at http://plasq.com/skitch Being a proud old Dad, I get to use a lot of this stuff during the developmental stages to test the boofhead useability factor.

I guess there was no pressure on the rollers huh? I wonder if when they go to wash down the boat and trailer after a day out that they remember to wash the car down as well? Second hand Ford for sale anyone? Real cheap!
Poodroo
Hows it going guys
I was at the ramp at Scarborough marina the other week and one can forgive this gentleman as it was 4 in the morning but i was launching my boat when old mate backs down the ramp jumps out and undoes everything for a launch then gets back in his car and goes and parks, meanwhile my brother had just parked my car when old mate starts swearing ,my brother asked if he was having a go at him the bloke apologised and replied
"have you ever gone to launch your boat and when you park your car you get out and realize your boat is still on the trailer".
Lucky the thing didn't fall off i say
Russ
G'day
Thats a cracker russ.
Kind of makes you wonder tho... why do people create so much stress for themselves over the smallest of things?
