Went to bribie again early on sun morning to be greeted by a stiff cold 20 knot southerly. We had 2 boatloads of keen fishos ready to peg some plastics around so we braved the early sh!t which proved a good decision. The wind dropped out pretty quick just as the tide was slowing around the bridge. The other boys had a throw on the flats and were rewarded with 2 nice lizards in the early 60's. My mate and I persisted around the bridge with the p stars and finally scored a couple of cod around the 40 mark before things shut down before the tide turned. The others pissed off up the passage chasing flatties but only managed a couple of rats and a small stonefish for darren. The action picked up a little once the tide moved in and we managed a few nice flatties under the bridge and on the flats. While fishing the flats darren hooked up again and this time brought in a much bigger stonie. Two in one session is a top effort and both on placcies. Both boats took home a couple of fish for a feed with the standout plastics being red, white and green wrigglers with the prawnstars doing the damage under the bridge. Hit the pine yesterday morning and quickly landed a couple of nice bream around the 30cm mark on 3 inch powerbaits. (smelt) Caught plenty more undersize bream and flatties on softies and jiggin the prawn and finished the session with a nice little cod on the bream stick which smashed a storm twitchn nipper. Apart from a few light showers the weather was good .Cheers.
