Hi All just spent 4 days and 3 nights at the above places fishing and exploring First day we checked the tide at the ramp on arrival and spoke to a few locals who advised what time it would be safe to leave the ramp on the plane due to all the shallow water a twisty turns so went and set up camp and then headed back down to the ramp and launched to set the pots for sandies and had a bit of a fish and try and work out the channels first day we got zip. But learnt a bit about the place by watching the locals and asking them about different places and getting them to show us on the beacon to beacon book how and where to get there due to all the shallow banks ect , second day we launched at big Tuan heading the long way up to south whytcliffe via cockburn channel and garry's and the moonboom isl ect fished there for a few small sweetlip but not much else set the gps up and went back via the L gutter and sat in front of bonooroo drifting for winter whiting and schoolies , we picked up 1 schoolie and about 30 whiting and 2 sandies from the pots headed in a for a few rums to be met by a fellow ausfish member back a the camp site while we were cleaning the fish who has taken up the offer of coming down if he was in the area ,thanks for all the info you gave us and also letting me follow you into marroom on the half tide on sunday arvo so i could set the gps for future trips and not hit bottom. sunday we were going to head back up to north wytcliffe folowing a few reports we got at the park from another fisho there that had been using the creeks near there and getting some nice fish as the weather report from the coast gaurd on sat said light winds to 10 kn on sunday but was already blowing about 15 kn so we headed back out to a few sheltered spots and check the pots and met up by chance with our ausfish friend who was kind enough to show us a few nice holes to fish and a very big thanks for that. sunday night we headed (walked)down to the ramp as we had heard that tailor were caught there the night before and i seen a few flathead lie;s close to the ramp so took the cast net for some bait and some red wine for warmth only to be rained out after about 10 minutes so we sat in the shelter talking and sipping red for and hour till the rain eased and then dashed back to camp oopp's staggered back.mondays plan was to be up early and out to the reef islands at day break but due to rain last night and maybe a bit of the red we got there about 8 am and fished to 10 before heading back in with a heap of winter tings and 1 unstoppable that was missed after staightening my 5. 0 ganged rig after towing a 4.35 allycraft around the bay for 10 minutes.
p.s
we had a great time even though no big fish were caught and i want to say a big thanks to the locals for all there help every one was so friendly
