    Re: guess who ran aground?????

I remember the skipper of a 6m platey at a M & G some years ago down Currigee, who just happened to be on board today???
Saying i'll take this short cut across to Paradise Pt, well some of us no the end results, when a red boat became a tow truck, need i say anymore about his navigational skills ??????
But i suppose it saves the cost of a dry dock to defoul the hull hehehehehe
Just cannot find good help anywhere these days ?????

Well someone who knows the pin like the back of his hand better be thinking of a name change.

    Thread hijacked

What new names for pinhead and his new deckie

I will start the ball rolling or the boat beaching if you pardon the pun

The Skipper and Gilligan just to keep with the 3 stooges theme from T.V

I can't be too hard on you guys as I think most of us have done the same one time or another. Would have loved to have been a fly on the bridge. Knowing you Greg you would have said she'll be right we will float off in a few hour's where's the green ginger?

Good to hear both boat and crew are home safe, good excuse to check the hull for barnacles huh Greg

somebody moved the end of the Gold Bank over further than what I thought it was..hence the shallow water. As we were sitting there I then got the story about Currigee and another time the guest of the day was on a boat that went aground near lady Elliot Island...seems that he just loves the shallow water.
O h well, probably not the last time I will hit the bottom especially down that way.
Amazing how news travels fast...it did nto take long and we received phone calls from Longtail, Herm, Chimo and Webby..amazing how quick the news travels on Ausfish.

classic stuff Greg , must have happened not long after we spoke at the ramp 'cause i got home and it was already on the boards

like Dave said if ya haven't hit bottom down the 'pin you WILL sometime

i'm just glad the time i did it , it was the middle of the night and i miscounted the greens coming back along jacobs well channel , that no-one spotted me.

Greg, if it's any consolation, I consider the area around Gold bank to be the most "shifty movey" place that a boatie could even encounter.

If it's any further consolation, I've hit sand there one week, that wasn't there the week before...........mind you, I did cross it at hight tide the first time, and low the next time

I watched several boats hit that bank saturday ,does pinhead have a four wins or larson thing with brown covers, because that boat hit the dead centre of the bank at about 25 knots, this was about 2 pm saturday.

not guilty on that one...my thing is not a four winns or a larson and mine has black covers...plus..we were there on Sunday. If I am not careful I will be getting the blame for every boat that hits that bank...I should blame my navigator.

every time the normal deckie walks past me she just chuckles..I think I might just change the name of the boat.....

    Ah Currigee....

I remember it well. Rangers, stolen wood, scotch and a big rig high and dry.

Good to see Phil isn't improving

Used to be that your embarassment wore off once you were back underway but apparently now it's posted on the cyber highway before you even get home...

Don't worry Greg we've all been there and done that around the pin at some stage.
Somehow i don't think the usual deckie will let this one die for a while.

    Cheers Dazza
