Quick fish this morning

Had a quick fish this morning in absolutley marvellous conditions this morning off Cq, @ spanish 13kg and 14kg 6 nice sized reefies , I didn't catch anything keepanble with some undersized red emporer and one beautiful barrimundi cod , i haven't seen one since i was 16. But all in all left harbour at 4 am and got back at 12.30 pm home and cleaned by 3 pm, Now have to get ready to go the parents 40 th annversery party. Weather is great for tommorrow so goodluck guys

Ill be chasn a few of those here in cairns come monday! Good stuff mate. Heaps around inshore here if the pros havent hit em. Not sure if you buy fish and boat mag but i wrote a article about pro netting in cairns here after stumbling over a few netters. Have a read and let me know what ya think.

Where in CQ did you get onto the Spaniards? Were you trolling or floating a pillie?

Cheers guy's, got them on floating pillie's there was a guy trolling past us as my mate was pulling in one of the spano's about 30 foot off us he got nuthin, pays to anchor and be patient. But all in all didn't see much come overboard in any of the other boats, If you want to know wher4e we got in cq pm me if your local

I see you've got the fish around the right way this time I thought you were going to park that boat up till the Hook Up. If ya can't trust a fisherman to tell the truth anymore who can ya trust
I tried floating a few pillies out and bottom bashing at the mackie spot on friday but other than seeing a small whale sending up water spouts just outside North Entrance it was pretty quiet. Couldnt have been much arounf as the burley trail only brought the sharks around
I was a bit late getting out though. Trailer lights werent working

Here's that pic of the barrimundi cod i just downloaded off my phone, Been hearing a few reports of a couple beening caught of late, i hadn't seen or tasted one since i was 16. One of my second cousins is engaged to a fisho on the coast and he caught 2 in one day, The fish stocks seem to be getting a hell of a lot better in the last 2 years .

Some nice fish there jt. The weather looks like it was realy good for you. Not much chop at the moment, but hopefully it will settle down before the end of next week, hoping to head north to check out a few spots. If it's still a bit ordinary I'll probably be around the islands.
