woohoo wello wed.

[HIGH and DRY]

well i took full advantage of the good weather yesterday, and i headed out for my first wello night trip. took a mate out and we were in the water at 5.30 and the first bait was in the water at 6. (after fish and chip dinner ) i decided to use 2 rods, one with a circle hook and just leave it in the holder, and my other good rig which i was going to hold. my mate also had his own rod. second cast and i got smashed and had line coming off at rate. soon after i had a 43cm squire in the slurry! as i was rebaiting the shimano, the other rod was going bersurk up in the rocket launcher. lots of big runs and head shakes later, another one of the same size joined his mate. at this stage, my mate hadn't even lost his bait!! next fish was also on the circle hook and was round 39cm. i was hooting by this stage.!! as i was bringing that one in, my other rod went off, so i handed it to my mate, who brought in a monster squid, only to drop it as he lifted it out of the water! a few under sized squire from my mate, and i brought up a 3 foot wobbygong as well.

we moved in a bit after it got a bit slow, and first cast in the new spot i esky'd another 43cm squire!!! i was cheerin!!! (mate was very quiet ) thinkin it couldn't get much better, i threw the line back in and wham! on again... this one ran hard but only came in around 38cm! i checked the time...was only 8.45!! not a bad session. managed a small sweetlip (sent back) and a couple of huge bust offs, including my mates that almost took his finger off!!!

total was 5 squire (3 around 43cm, 2 round 39cm) in a short space of time, and had an absolute ball! hopefuly my mate gets some next time, or i might lose a deckie!!! post pics this arvo!

I would have made you walk home..........i have a mate ive taken out 4 times,and so far all the poor bugger has caught is 2 grinners...

Sounds like a great day with a few nice fish . Its funny when you get two blokes fishing and only one gets the hits. myself and garrett have done it when one of us is on fire and the other just cant take a trick. Beautiful conditions on the bay, Well done

its funny, we were both using the same bait, same rig, fishing the same area, but he got bugger all!!! thats fishin for ya!!

Nice feed too! The big boys didn't want to play last night though!
