Angry tld 25 single speed servicing

Hi guys I have a problem with my tld ,the drag adjuster is seized, not the lever but the initial setting dial (refer pic) im trying to pull the reel down but the spool is still attached to the main shaft and I cant see how to remove it ,my fear is that It is connected(the main shaft) to this drag setting (the 1 thats seized) and thats why I can not remove it,my thoughts are that if it wasnt seized I would be able to undo the drag dial and the spool would be able to be removed, any help or tips on this matter would be greatly appreceated. cheers Snas

What about buying a litre of penetrene and submersing the reel in an old marge container and leaving it for a couple of days then get it out and have a gentle play and then submerge again, repeat this until free. Might be slow but it will work and a better option than a repairer taking the brute force approach and saying these bits were broke getting it apart so you are up for all these new bits. Time is on your side but not when someone who is pro at repairs as time is money to them

Hey guys do you know if you have to release that centre drag after use because I only release the lever drag on mine as my understanding is that the centre drag remains pre tensioned.

    Cheers,

You don`t need to touch the primary drag dial after fishing is finished. , just
bring the lever back to free spool after you have washed the reel.
The primary dial is only used when setting up your drag range initially,
but always do this with the lever back on free spool .

never have on mine Greg, dont take that as being the right thing to do though. In saying that I dont read of all the charter guys/big game fishermen reseting the pre drag every day.

putting the lever in freespool is fine, this disengages the drag system so the washers are not under any pressure. But as blaze says, test ur drag everytime u go fishing to check its still at the right tention, u may have knocked it last trip or the spring may have weakened etc, but as far as storage, freespool is fine, the only thing under tention is then the cam spring, but that never seems to be a problem
    cheers
