Northern NSW in December
Hi All
I'm planning a fishing trip down to northern NSW in december this year . I'll be able to access any spots between about South West rocks and The Tweed.
We will primarily be land based fishing off the beach and rocks, maybe the estuaries.
I've never really caught much at that time of year around this part of the coast as such.
I'm just looking for advice on which species to target and where to best target them at that time of year?
cheers

Go and hunt some big jew mate....December is a good time for them.
ALL the beaches in Northern NSW will produce big Jew as do the rivers and awesome breakwalls you get down there.
Plan you jewie fishing around the moon 4 days either side of full and four day either side of new always worked well for me.
Iluka has some great spots such as the breakwall itself and a rock spot called 'The bluff'.....But for easiness you can go past the breakwall itself.
South West rocks has a similar set-up with great breakwalls to fish off.
Many BIG jew are caught off the walls by 'wlaking the walls' with big live mullet and pike.If your beach fishing find a nice gutter and throw big slabs of mullet and my favorite fresh squid.
Along with jew there are big bream, tailor flatties etc.
Cheers

Re: Northern NSW in December
Thanks for the help guys.
I'm planning to pick one or two spots and set up camp rather than travelling along the whole north coast.
cheers
