dont spend over 200 bucks on a okuma reel, your mad if you do. id go the twinpower, or even daiwa sol.

From the ones uve chosen, go the twinpower, im yet to find an okuma that will put up with the abuse the average fisho deals out. mad max, sols only go to 3000 size, id say he wants a bigger reel than that for spinning off the stones, top reel tho

actually I use very light gear for the job at hand, gets one hell of a fight out of the big trevas an queenies!

after further research i think ill actually go with a shimano sahara...

For similar money to Twin Power shimano Sustain has faster retrieve and a large waterproof and smooth drag, for a bit less consider the Stradic.

lol, ok, the spinning off the rocks around my way would entail 6000 - 8000 size reel, my bad
Ur looking at a $130 reel as opposed to a $300 odd dollar reel, if i had the dough, i know where my money'd be going.

    ALL,
Twin power, Stradic,Symetre, stella, sorry guys but they are all the same reel just a higher grade of alloys and better machining on the components, best value for money is the symetre.

I'd also be checking out the 6000-8000 sized Spheros reels

    Tuff reels with nice drags.

Beg to differ,Symetre uses a slide driven by a gear incorporated onto the main gear to achieve line lay by moving the shaft/spool up and down where as the Stradic and Stella use a worm drive driven of the pinion. My money would be spent on a Daiwa.

i have had a sahara 2500 for 3 years now and in that time it has been great. it has seen hundreds of runs from heaps of bigger fish than the real was desined 4 , it won me a barra comp . i did go thrugh a couple of spools as the edges got chips and dings on them and would stuff up my casts. the only other problem is on one big fight i had with a large barra it some how striped a tooth on the pinion gear and 2 teeth on the smaller gear . it runs now like crap but the drag is still smooth and it still catches fish and thats after 3 years of punishment
    figjam

Thats why u will pay more for a reel generally, better alloys and machining, much less chance of the above happening, tougher alloy and better meshing prevent gear stripping.
