Glenlyon is hot
Went there for the Labour Day weekend and have never seen the yellas on the chew like it. The mate and I bagged out in less than three hours (2 for him). Spent the rest of the weekend doing catch and release. Most were in the 0.7 - 1.1 kilo range but he released a 2.5 kg fish on Sunday. Seems they have been biting for some time. Not much luck with lures. Most were caught in the 12-18 feet zone whilst tied up to the first set of trees on your portside as you motor up the creek bed towards the caves. There was about 36 feet of water under us and the fish were in close around the tree trunks. Shrimp were the go. Fishing deeper was not productive. Saw 4 good cod cleaned at the tables during the weekend but there were a lot of fishos out there after them. I'd like to know how many were actually caught. The busiest person I saw was Brian emptying the bins.
