G'day all i got a 4.2 meter bluefin tinny wanting to go to mud for an overnight trip just wondering would it be safe and any tips on where to anchor up of a night and what sides are better to fish or any help or ideas would be muchly appreciated.
Anchor on the lee side (side away from wind)
be wary of the aquaculture gear on NW side.
Remember you are in Flares-ville there.
Just remembered there is a Bris Harbour exclusion zone, but from memory that was from the North cardinal mark. Might be worth checking if you plan to anchor up.
Good fishy country out there, lots of Grassy Sweetlips, a few just legal snapper, the occassional Moses Perch. The usual rocky reef suspects.

Reason: I'm a goose
If the wind picks up it could be a bit hairy fairy on the way back .
My wife & I got hammered the first time we went there in our 4.10 meter tinny .
took our time onthe way back , had no option though . have been back afew
times since and caught quite a few fish . best squire to date 41cm no snapper yet .not bad for a dangler .lots of grinner around the island to.
cheers fae haggis ..................
thanks guys i got all the safety gear the bloke i bought the boat off 3 months ago used to go there in it said it was ok. might see some of yas out there in the next few months
Hey if you are worried about going to
Mud why dont you just fish the river there are plenty of snapper to be caught try the front walls there are some big snapper that lurk those walls. No need to go all the way to Mud when the fish are so close
Yer anywhere around that area i just don't have any idea on where to go i live in morayfield andmainly hang around scarby reef just looking for some different grounds
