My first threadie and a nice snapp bonus

Covered some ground today with my two boys and fished a few different styles and locations from St helena to finally the river. Garrett scored a few nice bream , we managed a few trevs around the island and then i managed a nice snapp at 650mm and finished up with a threadie at 1.3 meters and god knows how heavy at the river .Bad side was lost what could have been a great trev and Clint seemed to be on fire with grinners and shovel nose and one dam big ray but a great day on the water with some great fellas
Stay tuned me and the boys are hyped for a sesh tomorrow

    Great fishing Chief,

Most would be satisfied with the 65 snap, but threadie is a monster - well done. What did the damage?

OB1, thanks mate. Nothing flash on the threadie mate took two hardies on a single hook. On the squire mate i really love gulp turtle back worms seem to do the damage pretty consistantly.

    Chief,

I agree with you that the squire love the turtleback worms - unfortunately so do the vermin and they tend to bite the tails off too easily. Minnows and jerkshads seem to be the go when this is happenning. I though you may have picked up the threadie on a SP - still, hope it gave you a good fight.

Thanks fellas and horse , heaps of hardies around the inside of St helena and thats were the trevs were ,right onto that bait. Mainly small around 32 cm but there were some terrific showers of bait with some sizeable surface smashes.I lost one fish there on light gear with a live hardie that had blistering speed. we could see some big sets of shoulders displacing the water chasing bait. Good fun

    Bloody hell Chief!!!

That's a monster of a salmon - I've hooked and landed few blue salmon up here in Cairns at around 50cm; they go like the clappers at times!! Bet you knew you had him on, how heavy did he feel??

Either way, top feed there for the next few nights
    Regards,

    Andrew.
