Townsville/Cardwell Charter??

Hi all,
Can anybody recommend any decent fishing charter operators in the Townsville/Cardwell region? Looking at doing a trip in July.....apparently the barra fishing isn't so good at this time of year, but reef fishing and spanish mackerel should be firing?
Any tips/experiences/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Ryan Moody or Luke Fallon. But Luke Fallon is hard to get hold of because he does game fishing as well and is often all up and down the east coast. Ryan Moody stays more local.

Who says you can't get barra in July? Its just not as good as in Summer.

Go fishing in the Burdekin delta area, at Groper creek. Use big live prawns for bait, and you will only get a bite on the turn of the tide. You will see the fish on the sounder, but you won't entice them until right at the turn of the low tide when the water just about stops flowing. In the winter, the wild barra just won't make any effort to feed, they will only take it if handed to them on a plate without any effort required. You also won't get any of the really big ones in winter as they are very inactive then. Basically there is no reason to sit out there all day as they won't hit a bait except at the right time and definitely won't touch a lure in the winter. Probably not worth paying a guide for this though as you really only need to be on the water an hour and a half to fish the bite period.

Ryan does both the river trips for Barra as well as offshore trips in his bigger boat.
