Bohle yesterday
Hit the Bohle yesterday morning at 6am. Went up to the mouth and fished with whole mullet and prawns. Nothing much aropund except for Batfish. Moved down the river and found a t-juction with some good flowing eddies around. Hurled some mullet strips the fray and hooked on to a few Grunter. Kept one (36cm).............lots of small fish caught on the run out tide.
Fist time on the Bohle and some spopts really look like they can hold some nice fish. Found the occasional deep sections but nothing around. All in all a good 6 hours on the water and a feed of Grunter and Batfish(Butter Bream) for the pan.
Cheers

Re: Bohle yesterday
Did ya get a boat Kev??
Apparently there is an underwater rock wall near the mouth. Next time try with some live baits. We were coming back in from Rattlesnake one day and seen an old fella pull in a barra that was easily a metre.
If you want the Grunter try around the mouth aswell, even 3 ways.
Good luck m8

Yeh, that rock bar at the mouth of the Bohle has a good reputation for producing quality big barra

Re: Bohle yesterday
Hi
I had heard about that rock but the guy I was fishing/boating with did not know where it was. Yes Corey, ON A BOAT...............twice in a week. Hit the Haughton for 12 hours of fishing last week. No problems with the sea legs in calm water.
Caught 9 Grunter on prawns last night off the rocks. Kept 5............
All in all a great week of fishing. Loved being out on the boats and not being a burley provider.
Happy fishing

Re: Bohle yesterday
Onya Kev,
Sounds like I might have another mid-week deckie option to ring next time.
What a coupla weeks to be sick!!
In frustration, I went down to the horse track last night. Man, if you want herring one throw in the shallows will net you plenty. It was pretty quiet - I got one spectacular hit out in the middle on an unweighted herring that was 'flapping' on the surface. I let the line free-spoil for too long 'cos when I struck, I had been bricked. Hmmm, methinks there be a new snag from the floods out there - that's stored in the memory banks for future efforts.

Re: Bohle yesterday
Hi Mozza,
Yesterday arvo before I hit the walls, I cast net in my usual spot and got about 15 big prawns and a few small ones to take fishing. Nothing touched the live prawns but Grunter were hungry for peeled prawns on my trusty 2/0 circle hooks.
Havent seen Mozza reports for a while, thought you might have been out of town.
Yes, I can be your anchor boy on the creeks somewhere if you need. He! He!..........Only twice out on a boat and already getting cocky.
Happy catching mate
