Im going to go way out on a limb and say a Gulp Pimpkin sead
i you find the bream are fussy for the plastics useing the methods stated above, try going lighter with your gear. a possible setup it useing a rod length leader in about 6lb line, and swap jig heads to tt lures hws (hidden weight system) the lead is alot smaller and isnt shaped like a bullter on the upper shaft of the hook, instead its halfway downt the shaft of the hook and looks like a missile for example. you'll have to fish these differntly though to the other plastics. (im not an expert on this but ive read quiet a few articles on this) the best/easiest way is to fish with a light colour braid, this helps to spot the bream grabbing the sp because your fishing so light it may be hard to keep no slack. when jigging cast out and allow for tidal flow when targeting places becuase it will drift and light movements are best, may take a bit of geting used to but is the style of fishing all the tournamnet pros use. if you want more info just pm me and ill give you either some articles to read up on or go into more depth.
cheers ben
you will have to find alot of this stuff out for youself and find what works for you.
but i use 3lb fireline with either a 4 or 6lb trace.
my favourite plastic would have to be the 3inch burkley powerminnow in pearl watermelon. then 3 inch gulp minnow in limetiger.
i use a range of wights and sizes in my jig heads but always use tt heads.
usually im using from a 1/20 to 1/6 depending on how deep im fishing.
but when the bream are really finicky i go for my 1lb braid and 2lb trace outfit which is sceary stuff when u hook a big bream on a expensive lure inches away from structure!
i use 8lb fireline [ which is overkill ]but i also chase flathead so you can and do get away with 4lb braid . .6 to 10 lb trace about 1mtr long .but my best sp,s are the twitching nippers from storm , ratle grubs in a pumkin seed or motor oil colour .i fish in sydney so and the best thing is to talk to local fishing shops and to local fisherfolk to get a grip on what work in the area . then experiment to see what works for you . but fish as light as possable .
good luck its a big learning curve but defanatly worth it .
i love it [ chasing bream on sp,s that is ]
cheers
