Gold Coast and Tweed heads
Hi All,
First post ;-)
I had a search but nothing much came up.
I am a keen Vic angler (surfcoast area) heading up to the Gold Coast next week for 2 weeks, one at the Gold Coast, one at Tweed heads.
I'd like to bring some fishing gear and wet a line, if it's going to be worth it. I have a rod tube suitable for taking my 2-piece 10' Ugly Stik surf rod and a couple of smaller ones as well. I also have a much smaller and easier to transport tube that will just take a of couple 2-piece 7' ones.
So could anyone let me know what sort of gear i should pack. It's a family holiday with fishing included rather than a hard-core fishing trip
I'd also appreciate a few worthwhile places to try, especially down at the Tweed Heads end, because I'll have more time there.
Thanks heaps.

Hey buddy,
Is that a 10 ft surf rod? maybe something longer like 13ft for beach gutters.
Anyways, try the tweed river, many places to go. Including the mouth of the river on either sides, you can get to the south side by driving to fingal and following the road around. Should be some tailor or the like hanging around soon.
Also try from the banks, along the fingal road. look for structure and the beach of fingal, the gutters etc etc. heaps and heaps of places, cant gaurantee you will get a feed but you will like the place.
Cheers
Dan
