    Jacks over summer

Spent a bit of time chasing jacks over the summer months. Got into a few with a few big fellas taking some new trophys home, think i lost around 15 hb. Didnt manage to break 50cm which was pretty dissapointing, but ya get that on the big jobs.

All fish caught casting and most on hard boddies. All fish were also released to make little lure stealers. The bastards have been takin a liking to my little bream lures of late but are pretty hard to stop soo close to stucture with 2-6lb gear. Last 5 trips close to $100 of lures

    Enjoy the pics. Whytey

G'day why-ting, mate those are some lovely jacks. Top stuff!

I noticed in one of the pics that the gold bomber has some kind of added weight under the head of the lure? Is that something you did yourself? Is it just to make the lure less buoyant in the water, or is it more for casting purposes?

I'm interested because the old gold bombers are one of my favourite lures, and any ways I can improve an already great lure would be eagerly sought.

Cheers, and great work with the jacky's

G-day mate. The stuff under the chin of the bommer in that pic is called sticky wieght. I use this stuff to make the floating bommers suspend sometimes. You can crank it down and leave it sit in the 1 spot and tease fish into hitting it with little twitches. Its sort of like a heavy blue-tac and only costs about $12. I think Duncan at Fish Head should have some.

    Cheers Whytey

    super effort mate,

as others said i would easily give $100 worth of lures for that haul.

well done mate, hopefully i can bring up a good tally next summer
