I had similar troube with he Surf. After having a few experts look at it I ended up at Red Devil at Browns plains. Excelent service. They put two tubes of oil into the fan fluid drive unit and it has been great ever since. Not sure if that will be able to be done with yours as they are all different. With the surf they can add the fluid to the fluid drive of the fan. In other models/makes you have to replace the fan/fluid drive.
The fan is designed to stop working at 2500 rpm, or there abots, mine was stopping at under 2000. In theory and normal operation you are going fast enough for the air to flow through the radiator to cool it. But if you are not going fast and your revs are say 2000 rpm and your fan is cutting out at 1900 rpm then you will not get anough air flow. As soon as your speed increases your temp will come down fairly quick.
