Was waiting for a while to put this up but everyone who knows about it has already got fish, and everyone who was waiting missed out so cant get in too much trouble posting this...
After putting far too much time into getting one off the rocks, i finally cracked my longtail virginity.
The screaming reel woke me up from my daze.
Midday way through the fight i realised there was a camera crew behind me filming it for an upcoming dvd because the hosts couldnt raise a fish.
Unfortunately about 1m out from the rocks the hook pulled as we were about to gaff it. Wasnt to disappointed as i got filmed evidence and was contemplating releasing it anyway...(oh who am i kidding?)
Missed another run after that.
The 3 other blokes i was fishing with all got fish and i was offered one of their fish as they were cutting it off. I obliged just to get a few pics.
So technically not my fish but roughly the same size.
Pulled th scales down to 17kg.

they are soo bloody frustrating!!!!! had them bouncing off the side of the boat on sat and sun but couldnt get a hit....there sure was some size amoungst them....unfortunatly i had no plastics with me...just crome

Yeah Nice fish mate....I have done many hours of frustrating time on the rocks and lost longtails from pulled hooks,wrapped around points and sharks!
I have managed to land some nice ones off the rocks and you feel alot of satisfaction as alot of work goes into it.....Good work.

Cheers guys, i dont think many people realise just how hard it is to get a good fish off the stones. They might be frustrating out of a boat, but imagine sitting on a rock watching them bust just out of casting range
Fight times arent that long however which surprised me, only took 15/20 minutes or so

Heard about the filming of the DVD last week
I know some of the long time locals are upset particularly as the dvd supposedly covers some of the lesser known rock platforms where you can still go fishing for pelagics and not have to do battle with 30 other anglers.
