Sunshine Coast dwellers - I need some info

Hi all,

Does anyone have any info on boat ownership numbers in the Sunshine Coast area and also how many marine mechanics are in that area, are more needed etc

Mate I'm based Noosa area, I wouldn't have a clue about the numbers of boat owners but I do know they are increasing at an alarming rate.
We need more Boat Ramps etc. On a good day the Noosa River is a shit fight, boats everywhere and no trailer parks available.

As for Outboard Mechanics, there would be at least 6, possibly 8 or more in the Noosa area alone! As for the rest of the Coast, I couldn't tell you, but I do know there's a few around. Hope this is of assistance.

There is at least five boat yards at the Caloundra end (from Kawana south) with varying degrees of mechanics attached. Some independent guys as well. Many more around Mooloolaba and Maroochydore.

Last time I checked the figures on boat numbers on the Sunshine Coast was at 13000, now that was around 8 years ago.

I can count at least 6 mechanical workshops and mobile guys just in the Caloundra area. 7 if you include Lauries marina area. Could be more. As for boaties, well Bells Ceek boat ramp on any given weekend, there is at least 30-50 boat trailers there. When you add up that there are 4 ramps on the Passage in Caloundra and Bells Creek isn't the main ramp, there are a hell of a lot. Hate to count the number at the Power Boat club. Be 100 plus on a good (or a bad day if you want a hassle free day on the water) day just there. Makes you wonder where they all go out there.
