Hit wello early on Friday morning with anticipation of a nice fish, two days after the new moon and a high at 11.30, and i was exited. Fishing was slow at first with numerous undersized squire coming aboard, until my fishing buddy Funky got absolutely hammered by what i guess was a big snap - he held on for about 5 seconds and then must have spat the hook. 30 mins later he bagged a 58cm squire, and he was a very happy man! , kept him busy for 10 minutes anyway! Fishing slowed so we headed to Mud - the trip only took us 20 mins in perfectly flat conditions - was a beautiful day. Nothing at mud to write home about, so went back to Wello for a quick flick, and another keeper squire at 38cm.
Big Snap was caught on a 3in Pumkinseed minnow, no hits on T1's TMSK's today .
All in all a great day.
No pics as pic is in my phone and cant get the pic to the computer (I do have proof though)
58 is a good fish Mickstar, must have been happy with that!! Better when they're on your own rod though! Doesnt sound like they were around in big numbers - at least you got a feed and had some fun in good conditions.
So... I'm curious - whats your other "proof" fish frame?? No thanks!
Thanks Adamy, agree would have been better if it had of been caught on my rod but hey, i still enjoy seeing other people catch big fish, and congratulations to him! Frame is in the freezer for the next crabbing mission Adamy, if i can pull myself away from Wello/Green/Peel & Mud that is, its addictive stuff!
You were excited about the new moon and the high tide? I'm getting excited about the bigger picture. Bring on winter!!! None the less that was a great fishing session Mickstar! Good job!
