    Hey Barkers Creek,
    It is definately not a Sickle Fish common to CQ, Sickle fish are A grade tucker and the stripes and scales are different !!!

    Thanks guys for all the interesting info on this little fella . When I caught it in the cast net i thought it would look great in a large saltwater tank, a real good looker but hard as wood, just a quick pic and back to the water, love to see them swim free. No prawns to speak of Wednesday, bagged out 6 previous trips though .

    I know em as Banded Scat. I got one in a net at Paradise pt.

    Mate, they look good in a tank, especially a few of 'em, and you can get them down to fresh if you desalinate slowly. If you've got plants, they're a no-no. We used to sell 'em deliberately in the old days as the biggest mark up in the aquatic trade was plants (over 1000%)

    Sell 'em a scat one week and the punter would be buying plants off you every week for as long as the scat survived

    Thank G** that business isn't as devious today.........or is it?
