    Talking Threadie TRIFECTA!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi All.

Well all the signs were right on Sunday arv ,so off I went for a Thredie sess.I had the first bait in the water by about 5:15p.m.I had a run but bait was spat at about 530,so I'm thinking this should be a good night.A friend of mine rocked up to say gidday and had to leave at about 6:00.He said "I'll be back later and I expect you to have one by then.Well the pressure was on now.At 7:10 I here that all impressive soundZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ I grab the rod and gently set the hook into a nice 8kg specimen that I lipped in about 10 mins later and right on que my mate rocks up shaking his head."John I reckon you'll get 3 tonight!"More Pressure .Within 15 mins of the first fish my other rod goes off.ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. This fish semmed easier to get in but took about 10 mins also, which from my experience is the quickest I've landed the that size on the 6lb string.(Which I forgot to mention -I respooled all mt reels with new 6lb PLATINUM ).

It went quiet again for about 2 hrs when the old Black Queen bent right over and the reel started screemingZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.This felt like a bigger fish .By this stage some passer's by had seen something going on and before you knew it I had about 6 onlookers watching proceedings.after 20 min that big beautiful yellow fish came up to the surface and as it was going downstream against the tide I couldn't lip him in, so I used my gaff for the first time to get it up the rocks. This fish went 10kg .I still havn't broken the 10kg mark but there's alway's next time.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take any photo's as a friend of mine has a takeaway shop and in the past I have given him some fish but this time he really pestered me to sell him some.I said just have it but he insisted he give me some money for 2 of them. Before any of you condmn me for this ,this is he first time in my life I have recieved money for fish!!!!
Anyway I will post a pic of the one left later.
    Cheers.John

Sounds like a great session John, where exactly was it again he he. Dont feel guilty for accepting money for the fish john, whilst in principal i dont agree with it, in your case he did insist he give you money for them, and you didnt go asking for money so i wouldnt worry. Are you using live bait?

Hi Joe.If you have read any of my previous posts you would see that I always have pics.I normally take the pics at home as I fish at night and so people don't know exactly where my locations are.As I said in the report they were taken first up6:a.m. in fact Monday morn and it wasn't till I was going home from work that I relized I didn't take any pics.I have caught 2 at a time on several occasions but this was the first Trifecta for a single session.I will post a pic of the one fish that wasn't bought(so I can eat it) hopefully this arv.Cheers.

Nice one John!.............or should I say three.

Mate, are you floating those baits, or weighting 'em? The one small threadie (about a kilo) that I got in the Pine, was taken in 10ft of water with a herring fished 5ft under a float.

Hi Kev.Mate I weight all my bait down with about a #3 bean sinker.Only rarely will I go any heavier than this,as I like to keep it as light as possible, which is another reason I use the light line.I use to get a few in the pine about 6-8 yrs ago when I would fish Deep water bend regularly, the biggest going about 3kg.

I eat all the fish I catch out of the river, especially the Treadies as they are TOP chewing. As discussed in many previous threads ,the river is really very clean and where I get them the system gets well flushed with each tide. Each to there own though. The other thing is that because I use such light gear these fish a completely hadit by the time I get them in and won't survive if released- I tried reviving one for 20 min for it to go belly up straight away.

Poodroo - Thanks mate!!They'll be going off soon so you won't see any for a while.I'll have to post pics of Snapps hopefully, now that I have a boat.Cheers.
