Following Sunday's great day on the bay with my brother Neil, I decided to extend my vacation for one more day on Monday and decided to go for a solo session, no-one else could get out of work.
Hit the water at Manly around 5:30, after spotting some easily spooked surface action in between Green and St Helena headed towards the Sandhills and managed to sneak up on a big school of Mac Tuna, after a couple of dry runs managed to hook up my first LT which gave me the fight of the day, while not huge it went a little over 6kg.
Headed North to pick up some Livies, (lots of surface action around in the morning)
Then hit Cowen for a soft plastics session and only managed to pick up a couple of return to sender 34cm squire. (really good shows of bait on the sounder, - which was the opposite of the previous day) I probably needed some fresh squid and mac tuna to pick up what looked like some good sized fish.
From there headed to a different spot and picked up a cod on a live bait - to replace the one that holed me the day before .
As the day was still young I thought I'd head back across the water to the beacons and managed to pick up 3 small doggies .
Had a crack at Mud on the way back for another SP session but again despite some good shows only managed to boat some juvenile squire and a couple of grinners.
All in all covered a lot of territory and techniques but made for another very satisfying day and I don't recall seeing the bay so smooth.
Cheers
