Well the flag line also has a sign that says 'no fishing'. However I did fish on the southern side next to the wall yesterday, a ranger saw us fishing and just kept driving.
Tim.
I was wondering if you are still allowed to fish near the base of the dam wall on the southern end? I noticed a flag line to the east of the ranger's station (i think that's what it is ) and was wondering if this meant it was a no go zone?

Has anyone been getting anything? The last 4 times I've been down there (Forgan Cove twice and the dam wall from the picnic area twice) and nothing!
First time at Forgan Cove gave me 2 bass (31 & 34cm) and a (what looked like) a yellabelly which spat a lure right at me while the line was taut.
Falling water levels obviously don't help....
Lucky I'm good at dodging stuff from the missus or I'd be wearing a new Rapala piercing through my right eye!
jimbo
What time are you fishing jimbo? Early morning or late arvo are best IMO at this (still warm) time of the year. Have you any spinnerbaits as I find that in the shallows ( and it's farly shallow at both those spots ) I do alright with spinnerbaits as lack of depth works against some crankbait lures. Slider or Ecogear soft plastics also are worth a go I reckon. Threre are countless other factors that come into play but a slowly retrieved sp or spinnerbait was my introduction to bass fishing at NP with decent results if you persevere and keep mobile. And I don't think the falling levels has had any effect on the fishing at all.
