    jetskiers

On my own today and pulled into the Comslie Ramp had to use the beach as there were kids in rubber ducks zooming around the ramp and pontoon and being plain stupid.
Backed the truck down and was thinking how am I going to do this as the comslie ramp is pretty ordinary unless you drive on
A jetskier came in yelled out do you want a hand mate and helped me load the boat. Being my first time at launch and retrieve the help was most appreciated.

Prior to this I had a fairly low opinion of these people but faith has been restored they can't all be bad. Just goes to show there are minority idiots in every group but most people are decent folks.

Mate i got to agree with what you have just said. I myself was at raby bay ramp yesterday comming back from a water test. There was i jetski in the middle of the leads. Look around but could not see anyone one board. It turned out that he had run out of fuel and was swimming it back to shore. Went over and gave him a hand. I myself own a jetski and first and foremost respect rec fisherman because i am one myself. Yes you are right it only takes one to stuff it up for everbody.

    Re: jetskiers

Hmmm.... ever thought that some jetski operators might also be boat operators?????

Yes, many are simply dickheads but many are not....

Perhaps we should assert that all fisherman take undersized fish? because there are many many many that do????

That would be a fair and even assessment in line with the same tar brush applied to jetskiers, yes???

    Re: jetskiers

Actually, in summertime/peak holiday times, with both alot of jetskiers and boaties hooning around, we have more incidents with idiots in boats zooming close to us at anchor than with jetskiers. Yes, whilst on the move, some jetskiers will act hoonish and jump our wakes and such, but its no bother to us, great humor actually when they make fools of themselves and come off. But the majority tend to keep their distance when under anchor. Certainly improved over the years since licensing.

    Re: jetskiers

I have had plenty of crap thrown at me and my wife (has her own ski) whilst out on our jetskis.

It just shows though ...you cant judge a ski by its cover !!

I have been in VMR (non-crew, at present) for 15 yrs.

Been fishing Moreton Bay since my dad took me out from Sanderson's boat hire in 1967.

Had 50 dives in SE Qld in under one year.

340 motor hrs on ski in 2 yrs, 250 hrs on last boat in 5 yrs. I'm sure on the water a heap and LOVE it !

Pick up a new boat this week (5.0 centre console seajay with 80 4Str Yam)

Have towed boats to safety with ski.

Have gone to VMR Southport from the pin on ski to get help to a guy in a boat with no fuel left ... etc etc.

My kids ride with us regularly and are becoming seaKids verses playstation kids, would not swap that for all the rum in Bundaberg.

New tinnie will take us camping on Sth Straddie. The kids have caused that little loan extension on the house !!!

I'm a PWC addicted boatie or a boatie addicted to PWC ... and YES there are idiots on PWC that I've got stuck into but its the idiot behaviour that Pi$$es me not the craft. I've seen that many wallies out there that I dont see a craft anymore just the idiot ...

    Regards
PWCDad ( with boat again from this week !!!)

    Yep, well said lads.

btw, PWCDad, do you know how much rum is actually in Bundaberg???
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. But ,flogging him into submission will result in him taking up crabbing.... and once he gets a taste of that sh*t, well, he may never return again.
