    howdy all,
just after some info on monduran dam, we are looking to head up in late may, i no its most probly the not best time but thats the way it has to be. What info i was looking for is if the barra at that time of year up there will respone to lures in the shallows or will it be to cold, I no that in salt water where we chase them the most once the water temp drops the barra become even more lazy then normal, if somebody wouldnt mind helping me out that would be great.

    cheers to all

    hey
i have only been to monduran 1 time for 3 day and there wasnt even one barra caught in the 3 days but its just luck of the draw there feeding alot one week but not the next week i think you will be lucky to get a barra when its cold but if i was going there then i would definantly be fishing shallow weed beeds ,shallow structure and hard into the lantana and fishing the areas where there is minimum wind and if your going for afew days if you dont see or get any barra i would probably try for some bass aswell and if nothing works im quite shore you will get a catty or 2 thanks

    shaneoo,
Over the past few years I have seen Monduran fish at it's best around April and May, in saying that this year has been one of the toughest I have ever fished , as mentioned by scotty all due to the frequent weather changes and water temp flucuations with the dam level dropping fast.
As the others say look for your warmest patches ,and you could also try fishing the mid day heat as the water temps keep rising untill late afternoon.
The fish have been on the chew with some great reports coming to me just before the last weather change (last weekend).
Monduran is a great spot with plenty of areas to fish, also try and find a quiet area to yourself .

    Good Luck
    Brett.
