Re: Have you ever got sick of fishing?

Just got back from Weipa(hope to post some pics soon)where we had one great day on the GT's. After about the 20th Gt I was a bit sick of it, Oh the pain.

If you have never caught a GT and want to experience how it feels, try this. Stand on your roof with your rod, and have the line attached to the back of your car.Have the Missus, or a friend drive in circles, and start winding.

    Cheers

Yeah, I am now. I just spent a week on Lake Macquarie and didn't even chuck a line in.... I guess it's because up until recently I had lived on the water at Paradise point (for 8 yrs)and the canal was chokkas with BIG bream and muddies not to mention the odd trev or jack etc. It got to the stage that it was easier chucking a line off the back deck knocking back a bucket of beers (no water police) and catching fish without going out on the broady and doing battle with the rest of the wankers......... I thought by moving off the water I would be more motivated but I guess it might take awhile.......... my wife & kids got over it as well & I love to spend time with them. So I guess I'll wait till the bug bites again & until then I can read all your reports and still feel the buzz....

I did for a while years ago, I suspect moving from the NT to Wollongong may have had something to do with it.

Have I ever got sick of fishing and i said NO NO NO....
They tried to make me go to to rehab and i said NO NO NO...
What are you up to on the weekend T and i say GUESS GUESS GUESS...
Going for a fish and i say YES YES YES...

Gee, even my wife now fully understands and knows that it's weekly therapy! The only reason i don't go more is work commitments! Never ever got sick of it, even when i've had periods of little or no return (as everyone does...)! I actually thinks it makes me go more when that happens.

There have been period of time over the years that due to work/business commitments, i didn't fish anywhere near as much but thankfully i have my life well organised now and a fish at least once a week is minimal (if not, twice the following week). like my wife says, IT'S THERAPY!!!

    Take Care T

    eh?? never!

Been sick WHILE fishing though... Went to a mates engagement party last saturday night, drunk as a skunk, home by 3am, up at 5am and off to mud with brother chris, all was going well until 8am, burleyed up over the side, pulled the hat down over my face and slept until 2pm. By the way, conditions were flat and still as a pond that sunday morn. Got back into it, caught myself a nice cod just under 40cm, then went back to my folks and ate it for dinner. Felt fine after that!
