left the house at 8:30am yesterday for the spit on the Gold Coast! As soon as we got there we went to the pier and spoke to the guy and said there wasnt much caught. So we got pipis and went to the middle of the pier where the white water is. Had about 10 cast then poof (as i went with my mate)he had a dart so we took a few pics and chucked it back
About 3 minutes later bang! i found meself with a 19cm dart so we just chucked it back. nothin happening so we moved up and used the lure as we caught a queenfish and the japanese guy next to us did. he started cutting it up at about 25-30 cm (dont think thats legal ) so it took us like 5mins to tell him!
So we had nothing then so we went round to the side where there are a few rocks and had quite a few bites with the pipis as we could see tonnes of fish!
but we got nothin just took our bait!
Good to hear the Dart are making people happy. Used to fish the jetty regularly and sometimes take the soy sauce with me. There is no size limit on Dart and a skinless fillet sliced thinly and dipped in a bit of soy makes for a very good sashimi snack. I know a few of those Japanese regulars there and they also know that fresh is best.
