    Question Boat Registration

Does anyone know if I were to take my boat on holidays to Queensland ( from the N.T) would I be able to use it there without it being registered???.. In the Territory boats dont need to be registered at all, only the trailer they are on. The boat has a 50hp motor on it and I have third party insurance etc with my boat insurance.

    thanks

    Re: Boat Registration

I believe it would have to be given the size of the motor which governs whether a boat need to be registered.

You should check with Qld Transport for the correct advice. Try:-
    www.transport.qld.gov.au or phone 132380.

Don't forget to checkout the safety gear requirements as well. Don't know if they differ in Qld from NT.

    Happy hols

    Re: Boat Registration

Don't know how you can legally register it in QLD if you live permanently in the Territory....
What do you use for a permanent QLD address??
Do they numbers of any description on the side in NT??
Or how does the insurance company know which is your boat??
I'd be ringing either Territory Transport or QLD Transport though to find out for sure.
