Pine River 10/4/07

Hi all ,hit the pine this morning at 7.00 I was thinking that this time I had it right 2 hours b4 the low so prawn chasing was on the cards went to the bridge, nothing went up to castle hill with about 5 other boats and meet Freedom for the first time( Hi mate nice to meet another Ausfisher) prawns were on here but of no decent size but as I needed to top up the bait freezer a few hours were spent gathering these little blokes,gave clone trooper a buzz and then meet him & his son down at the bridge had a fish there for a while, I got nothing cloney landed a few under size bream ,went for a drift along the mud flats hoping to nail a flatty but the wind was that strong we kept getting pushed onto the bank so we buggered off from there to a more protected position dropped anchors and proceded to drown a few fresh prawns, I nailed a lovely flathead (tonights dinner)a couple of stinking cat fish and a small ray cloney grabed a few catties then it went dead after about 20 minutes and the pickers moved in,Clone and his son called it a day and I went up to the stinky wall and got 1 under sized cod (released) the stench was unbearable so back down to the hill prawns were still on so grabbed a few more and called it a day,not the most productive fishing trip but beats working around the house ,will give it another try tomorrow.Cheers Snas.

I'm sure it would have been much more peaceful there today

Snas, thanks for catch'n up and sharing your live bait with us.( live prawns rock ) and you forgot to mention all the undersize muddys we were pulling up on our lines. and how did you go with your pots, any luck? that cod looks nice.

Hi Clone trooper no worries about the prawns mate ,collected my pots this morning only got 1 keeper(tonights dinner)and the prawns were a bit bigger today so got some more bait and a few to throw in with the crab ,no fish.
