With the level 5 restrictions soon to be in place, where are you supposed to wash the boat and trailer. Are we now to fish the dams?......sorry i forgot no water...
How do these regulations affect the carwash companies. Are we going to be slugged with higher fees? Or do we just fish further north and wash the boat at these ramps. What do you think?

You're still allowed to flush the motor and wash the brakes, since these are safety issues. The rest of the boat stays dirty I guess

Freedm is correct about the motor flush and brakes - just look in todays paper.
As far as cleaning the boat you could think about gathering water (bucket) each time you start up and use the shower and save in a large container for later when you want to wash down your rig/gear.
I saw this from one of the other guys on Ausfish a while back and thought I would try it.
Bit of a pain but no probs really and it keeps the boat clean and conserves (reuses what would normally flow down the drain) --- water.
Worth a thought.

I collect the water that comes out of the engine when you flush it, you would be supprised how much you collect, then run it through the gurnie and spray down the boat, no worries all nice and clean.
I guess i fill it with pot plants and wash it on those days when i can water the garden by bucket.Or looks like im going to have to buy a small tank to run the guerney off as i clean most down with deck wash while on the water then just need to give everything a good rinse

Yea our dam is near full but we still have to have level 5. Poured down here saturday night for a few hours. I think level 5 will affect city ppls harder than those that lives in the bush/country
During 92/93 we had a mini drounght here in the south east, the first thing we did was went out put new bore and extensively increased the waterholding of both of our dams. combined volumetric capacity is over 15 megs and at 90%. If uneducated country ppls like us can see the writting on the wall, then what is the gotv. is actually reading of the walls!!!

We are lucky to have no restrictions what so ever. But I have to wonder how long it will be before they start coming our way.
It seems once restrictions are off, we forget to easily and revert back to our old wasteful habits.

You can all wash your boats here at my place.
I'll never ever run out of water.
All my dams (stocked with Bass, Yellas, Silvers & 1 Murray Cod) are full.
When they empty a bit I fill them up.
Water comes straight out of good old Cooroy Mountain for home use and the gardens and washing my boat of course.
We sure are lucky!

Flush the engine at home in a barrel full of rain water.
As for the boat, just visit your local commercial car wash.
Most recycle over 80% of the water and some are installing hUUUUUUUge water tanks.
I could always visit my bother inlaw, he's got 3 X 25,000 litres tanks (all full) and he's planing to get another one.

Sorry fellas, blame the lack of rain on me, just installed a couple of water tanks, since then it has not rained one bit, murphys law.
