Thread: Level 5 Restrictions - What does this mean for you?

Pinhead hit the pin on the head, they've had many opportunities to do this over the years but political pressures decreed that other priorities got looked after first, also wasn't just the Goss government, thing that gets my goat is when they say " hey not our fault the dams where full 6-7 years ago" seems like living day to day on a pay packet to me, they ignored it, now we pay for it,,, anyone know how many days left in the dams?

No problem here NOW, I have just installed 4x1000lt totes all hooked up for anything I want, PLUS 1 extra right next to my boat for a REAL good flush and wash.....seperate to doing this yourself, I guess we can all rock on over to Marlin Mikes place and tub our boats....
By the way, I just maybe able to get some more 1000lt totes so if ya real interested let me know and IF I can I amy be able to assist...a few doesnt mean 100 so my guess wil be around 5 over the next few weeks...can't promise anything BUT will advise when I know as a first in best dressed scenario....also, South Brisbane - Logan areas best suited for pick up ...definitely NOT the Redlands, but their time will unfortunately come one day if it continues

About 4 yrs age we had worse restrictions than Brisbane until by a freak of nature we had 600mm of rain in two days over the dam but very little since.

You can build as many dams as you like but it has to rain in that area to get any water. I think everyone has to come to the realisation that if the predictions are right and we will get less rain then there are too many people in the SE corner for the available water.

I don't know the answer but as you can't put a fence around SE Queensland to keep any newcomers out. Desalination is expensive and is a last resort for drinking water, recycle water is OK but you cant' keep sending water round and around without topping it up with rain water so maybe the prayer mats should be out.

If you can spot clean your car with a bucket and sponge for potentially damaging marks, then I am sure you can spot clean your boat for potentially damaging marks too.

Simple, its covered in salt spray and needs to be cleaned. So give it a good bucketing and rinse down.

But I am always one to push the envelope a little while still working inside the boundary lines.

Typical - tank delivered and sitting in yard next to down pipe, but not connected. Been raining on and off all night!

Just a note - the greenies are touting Desalination as expensive. It s not. It costs about $3 a tonne for desalinated water. Yeah its dearer than the dam water we currently get in the tap, around a $1 a tonne, but still cheap as chips.

Ask the blokes who occasionally have to pay to have water carted when their tanks run dry what they pay per tonne! That is expensive!

We are still in the middle of renovations here at home so we have a few downpipes that run straight on the ground. Thought about this and went and bought some plastic garbage bins from the hardware. I have 4 of these scattered aroung the place and even with the little rain we have had they hold enough water for those extra things like watering my plants and washing down cars and boat. I run the karcher out of them to when i need to wash down concrete etc.

I'm in Caboolture shire and things have been tuff here for awhile.
My brother lives just up the coast and they can quite happily waste as much water as they like????? Why not put all of SE QLD on water restrictions. How unfair is this.????? Water is a widespread problem, not just confined to particular areas so why only restrict water usage in selected areas.??????

still does - the northern area of the gold gost council shire is supplied by brisbane - the hinze dam is a puny thing and the GC would run out very quickly if it had to rely on its own supply entirely. the LM down there is quite smug about it too as the problem is there are contracts in place with the Logan shire as the water passes through there and they colect their share of revenue

wags - drop into one of those car washes on the way home on Logan Road. think it is the Freeedom one - it is a good one as you can drive into the end bay with a boat - a lot of car wash bays are not designed for trailers etc. it costs me about $10 including soap suds etc for a 19'

    Miike,

"I'm on a winner there, thanks for the idea. I'll get rich and retire.........10 bucks a wash and flush.....you bewdy, line em up boys"

does this include suds and all if you want to compete, I'll be there that way I can take my time.

Have thought about soaping the boat up at the ramp first then just doing the gernie thing at the car wash.

Stuff that , you gotta wash your boat and flush your motor!
Also your car if you have driven it onto the beach to launch !

otherwise you are gonna find it more expensive than a water fine

WASH your car etc late at night when noone else around.

Pinhead, the few i have stated are only the tip of a iceburg, i can tell you now the money Aus have blowen on total crap since the year 2000 that pipe would of gone around Aus 2fold and still have money left over

and now they are building a decel near the G/C, if only the Aus public REALLY no what that is going to cost to build and maintain each year and the amount of fuel that thing is going to use will blow PPL away, just dont make sence to me, up here fresh water is going into the ocean and then they want to turn ocean water to fresh fair dinkim gets me stuffed
