    Aussie Whaler v's Monohull

Been looking at going up in size from my 5m plate cuddy cab and am thinking about the option of a 5.5m Aussie Whaler.

Has anyone got much experience (good or bad) with these boats. They certainly look the goods.

Any feedback appreciated and lets hope this weather improves !!!!!

    Hi Steve

Had a look and test drive of one 5.5 AW in the broadwater and out in the surf around the sand pumping jetty when I was looking at moving up from a Express Alloy. Also took the AW guy for a run in the Express in the same locations. To be honest the AW 5.5 did not perform as well as the Express and we felt it needed to be longer (for its width) to give a better account of itself.

AW did build a 6.5 m long unit eventually but by that stage the 6.2 Seafarer Vag was doing the job for me.

You need to test whatever your looking at in the conditions you intend to use it in and then make up your own mind.

    Good luck in the search

    Cheers
