south straddie

I am trying to sort out a day trip this weekend and was wondering how easy it would be to take a car over to south straddie. does anyone have details of any barge services that go over there and whether any licences are needed?

i have tried searches but come up with a blank so far.

no vehicles allowed there

Gold Coast Council permit but only for house owners and very slow speed limits being imposed to slow and reduce cars on the tracks

Part of beach is designated road but over the last few years turtle nesting has been observed also bird nesting and cars being discouraged.

Bit late for the weekend, but try North Straddy next time. Heaps of beach and some great camping spots along the beaches. Some sheltered and others not so sheltered.
