Good news at last.

Glad to hear it all ended up ok, in my experience these sort of smoke and mirror tactics are part of life these days, unfortunately.
I'd say the delay was profit-driven, no doubt about it.
Seems to me it is tough for honest people to do much more than make ends meet these days, particularly if they are trying to raise families.
As you so rightly say, a bit of honesty goes a long way, as far as goodwill is concerned!
