    Flatties-bloodsport

    Went for a fish today in the pine with my bro chris and my mate shaun. Bit quiet but we managed half a dozen small to average lizards and a small moses. The highlight of the day was when shaun caught a flatty around 35cm. While trying to unhook the beast it spiked him in the stomach before falling off the hooks straight into his heel. Made for some good entertainment! It seems that a heap of beers doesn't stop the bleeding so we'll have to stick with the slime off the belly. The successful lures were 120mm squidgy wrigglers in red, drop bear and green. The honeypot prawn did the damage in the deeper holes on the lizards and also claimed the monster lutjanid. Cheers.....

    it doesnt surprise me that the beer didnt stop the blood but i bet it killed the pain

    It was victorian beer mate so I'm not too sure what it did. Hopefully knocked some sense into him to drink a real beer like XXXX.

    I know how he feels.I did same thing this afternoon at the pine. First flatty in the boat and he got me in the finger through the gloves, before I dropped him on my foot . Had the kids with me and they were scared dad was dying cause I was bleeding everywere . the pine flattys were getting there own back today by the looks of it.

    Thats flattie fishing , just about everyone I catch, catches me. Pity it wasnt so much fun chasing them otherwise I would have chucked it in long ago
