See ya there.
The underlying spirit of angling,Is that the skill of the angler,Is pitted against the instinct and strength of the fish,And that the latter is entitled to an even chance for his life. Regards, Hardb8.Kickin tails and razin scales since 1979.
I would encourage anyone with an interest in becoming involved with Lakes Samsonvale &/OR Kurwongbah to attend.
Cheers,

Good to see Hardb8 there last night and of course Fitzy in his role in assisting the project to become a reality. Fitzy has just about got us over the line and it's pretty much time for other people to pick up the ball and run with it. So far I'm finding it very interesting being involved in setting up a brand new fishery, there are some great challenges ahead for everyone involved and I imagine some great levels of satisfaction yet to be achieved and as a plus so far all the members I've met have been bloody good blokes. I'll put up another reminder for the next one.
Could someone explain the Kuwongbah Project , Is this a new initiative, Cheers Whitto
I am with Whitto --- where can I get some info on the Kuwongba project
cheers John

I was away on holidays or I would have been there. Can you keep us posted on meetings? Or is there somewhere else on the web they put notices of meetings?
Feral,
The group meet the first Wednesday of the month, meeting usually start around 7.30 pm. Most tend to get there a little earlier so they can have a chat about trips and other things. Yes mate we do have a web site, but i can't remember the address, i will find it and post it for you as soon as i can.

Whitto,
Yes mate it is new, the submission is at the present time with the DPI, should be finally OKed in the next few days.
The Kurwongbah stocking will be managed by the Pine Rivers Fish Management Association and will be run by a Sub Committee of that Association, as a completely seperate operation and will not be integrated with the Lake Samsonvale Stocking . There are still a number of items to be sorted out but all seems to be progressing very well, thanks to a lot of assistance from Fitzy.
Hope to See You All at the Next Meeting (AGM) in May.

The web site for the PRFMA is, http://prfma.com/ and the email address is prfma@hotmail.com

Thanks for the reply Obi_Wan, sounds interesting and has my attention, fished Lake Samsonvale for 3 seasons with some excellent Bass and YellaBelly results then of course the drought happened and shut Samsonvale down due to low water, have just recently brought a house at Strathpine so there shouldn't be too many excuses not too attend meetings in the future, Im assuming the meetings will be held at the same location as the PRMFA, anyhow sounds interesting and will attend if not working (shift work), Cheers and Thanks for the reply, Cheers Whitto
Whitto,
Yeah mate the meetings are still in the same place and yes there are a good number of us who feel like we have had an arm cut off, not being able to fish Samsonvale. You can not see any water at all from our launch point at the moment.
Please, All go outside and do a rain dance or something.
Cheers,
Obi_Wan
Thanks for the info.
I'll pencil it in to my calendar.
What a rain dance or going to the PRFMA meetings?? LOL
It is really great to see so many dedicated members of this & many other fish stocking groups keep on keeping on with all of the low water & access issues around ATM.
It is even better to see so many new folks become involved in their own fishing future.
However one of the biggest hurdles that face PRFMA in the short term is funding if no rain is forthcoming. Insurances etc are killers!!!
So if anyone wants to help, but cannot attend a meeting of this group (or any other fish stocking group) I'm damn sure they would love to get a cheque in the mail of even a few dollars. It WILL help.
Cheers,
fitz..

Yeah, well if they went SIP they would be getting funding right now from all the people fishing off the bank!
But I also take your point, they have chosen their funding methodology, nothing I can do about it, and I am willing to support the stocking associations when I can. I tried to get a North Pine permit when I first took up freshwater fishing, but it was just as the water disappeared and they stopped selling them. I have emailed them at there email address on the web site in the past asking about helping out but have received no response.
If I can get along to the next meeting I'll offer in person! Or perhaps I'll offer to the Kerwongbah subgroup, they will probably need it more just starting out and all.
