    Double question 240v - Microwaves

Does anyone take one camping? I'm not overly keen on 240v in the open but my next camping trip is on a powered site. I've seen el cheapo microwaves for as little as 60 bucks and just wondering whether it's worth it? I know that I could put it to use but still unsure of 240 and damp.

My intention on the powered site is to run all my 12 volt stuff and just use the 240 supplied for charging the batteries and battery packs. How do you feel about 240 in the open (under a tarp)?

No worrys as it should be protected by a RCD (safety switch). Use 240 a lot the a gen set, up the beach..

I think the concern would more likely be for the longevity of the microwave. The bouncing around getting to the camp site, then the salt air corroding the electronics. Same thing about the air if you live at the beach. The In-Laws have a unit on the beach and they have to replace everything much more frequently than we do.
