Hi guys, recently I was told by a bloke about a new type of popper, very small and light with a Japanese sounding name ( Terryaki or some friggin thing). any ideas and if so can anyone tell me how they go as this bloke (who I don't really know that well) said they were kickass on bream.......... ta

Tongue in cheek (terryaki) it's something that sounds like that. I'll try and find out more but as they're pretty exxy, apparently, I would like to get a few opinions first. can anyone think of what they could be I may be confused but I'm sure he said they were poppers............. Any new small floaters even that sound like teppanyaki or whatever.??? I was hoping not to hit the tackle shops until I had some info...........
maybe a Towadi which are made by Smiths. Supposed to be great but I have never found them at tackleshops before.

Tiemco (Tee-Em-Ko) might be the one you mean. They make a tiny pencil popper for "walking the dog" with but the best method I have found with them is give a few twitches and then just a slow even retrieve across the surface like you would imagine a small prawn motoring along the surface......... lots of fun in the early morning
Both Tiemco Stick Baits and Smith Towadis are dynamite on Bream. You just have to get used to walking the dog and that can take abit of practice. Remember to use Mono leader instead of Fluorocarbon as Fluorocarbon sinks and pulls the lure down as the lures are so light. Also tie your knots right to the lure with a Uni knot. That's what I've found gets my Towadis working well.
