Yes, the Bush'n'Beach boys have won the ABT event at this years Tinnie & Tackle Show, here in Brisbane.
Chris Britton and Anthony Wishey ( ex bait, club and current Ausfish members ) have pulled off a coup and left the field in their wake at this years event.
Needing a bag of 1.30kgs to win the comp on the final day, the boys weighed in last with a nice 5 fish haul of 2.44kgs to take the $10,000 first prize. Yep, 10 big ones. Then to add insult to injury Chris Britton won $1,000 for the heaviest Bream of the comp at 1.040kgs.
A well deserved win for them as they have only been fishing this type of comp for 3 years. Chris's new boat Skeeter, is a great looking rig at 18ft with a 115 Yammie four banger pushing it.
Ben Collins, editor of Bush'n'Beach fishing magazine, was over the moon with the win. Lots of hard work and time away from families have paid dividends for all concerned.
I am sure there will be a full round up in the next edition of Bush'n'Beach mag and probably QFM as they are the tournament organisers.
There were quite a few Ausfishers on hand to witness the weigh-in and I met up with most of them. Good to catch up again guys and girls.
Cheers Phill
