    What line class?

Im heading up to Hervey Bay at Easter & will be fishing off the Urangan Pier. I have been spooled on 10kg & busted off 3 times on 15kg with only 1, 5kg Golden Trevally to my name after 2 attempts. Can someone please tell me what line class I should use????? (Using a Loomis GL2 10kg spin with a DaiwaTheory, 10 & 15kg Fire Line with 25kg trace). HELP!!!

gday gav, i live near the pier, and it all comes down to what you are targeting. But the general fisherperson here either hit the end of the pier in the deeper water with some big gear to try for the bigger fish- a whole host of plagics ect, eg, a 38 kg spanish mackeral was caught last week with photos available to see at anglers den, which has moved to underneath sporties club not far from the pier. Getting back lineclass ,it is not unusual to see people going out to the end with big penns overheads, loaded with 150pound ect. You need big gear out there.
Your gear would be better in the first channel under the pier , which hold some monster fish on both tides.
Call in to anglers den for the low down on whats happening .

Thanks for the info I- SIDE. I have seen some of the biggest game gear outside a game boat, out on that jetty!! I have only fished the inside channel because of what tackle I have seen draged out to the end. But I will be upgrading to at least 20kg & giving it ago in the first channel again! CHEERS!!!
