Hey all,
Out fishing with my brother yesterday in the passage.
Both of us had a "stretching" moment at the same time.
Discovered that we shouldn't do that as the boat flipped in the blink of an eye.
We were both cast into the water and the boat was upside down.
I was trapped under for a minute, but was able to free myself.
Luckily a fellow boatie noticed we were not the right way up and came straight over.
Dragged us both into his boat, towed ours back onto the island, where we righted it.
Then towed us back to the boat ramp.
We lost just about everything. Wallets, keys, gear, pride etc.
The list of gear is as follows....
1 x Team Daiwa Tierra 2000 spinning reel (bought the day before!)
1 x ATC 3-5kg 7’ one piece graphite rod
1 x Shimano Tiapan Extreme 7’ Snapper Rod
1 x Shimano Spheros 8000 spinning reel
1 x Shimano Stradic 2500 spinning reel
1 x Shimano Rack Raider 3-5kg, 6'8", 2 piece graphite rod
5 x clear tackle boxes, all full.
2 x 1 x pride
1 x any trust in the tinny
We were drifting out from Bongaree in a line between the big white tower on the island and Sandstone point.
In about 8m of water on the mainland side of the channel. It was about 1.30pm yesterday the 29th March.
If anyone catches some nice gear on the drift, let me know!
My wife said I didn't have to go to such extremes to prove I need a bigger boat.
Glad the Tinnie and Tackle show starts today!
I was in a bit of shock and forgot to grab the guys details.
If you are the guy who saved us, or if anyone one on here knows the fellow please get us in touch.
He was in a white Quintrex tinnie with about a 10hp on the back.
He was out checking his pots at the time.
I would really like to thank him properly
Cheers.
